Comprehensive Suspension Parts List
Comprehensive Suspension Parts List!
In the completion of my new suspension for 1995 GLE, I've been trying to complete a comprehensive list of 4th gen suspension parts to help everyone out. I've got a page posted at http://staff.jccc.net/dlee/maxima/suspension/ that has pictures of everything I have collected with part numbers and prices.
If anyone has pictures of parts that differ from what I have listed and the part number and price.
I know SEs have different front bumpstops from the other trim levels, and I'm sure there were some small changes in parts over the years, so help me out so we can help out everyone!

Great web page!! I would recomend a change to one item on that page. The red gaskets that Nissan has to isolate the strut mounts are junk. You can make your own out of exhaust gasket material. There thicker, insulate against noise much better and they don't break apart within the first 2 years. Best is the cost of making all 4 is about 3 bucks. I don't even want to know what Nissan charges for "PAPER" these days.
Here's some pics of the ones I made when I did my last suspension tune up.

Feel free to copy and past them into your site. You can reference me there as well if anybody has questions about them. It might also be a great idea to put a list of contacts for information and help with suspension issues. Please put me on that list if it ever comes about.
Thanks
Tom

Rear upper mount gasket question
Hi all:
I dug up an old post in the archives regarding the rear upper mount gasket. I'll post a quote here from and a question to "NJMAXSELTD".
It is mentioned that a homemade type of gasket material for the rear upper mount can reduce noise. Would this "noise" be from suspension squeaking or would it be helpful to isolate road noise from being transmitted through the chassis of the car?
If I recall correctly; when I look at the top of my shock towers (from inside the truck), I see a sort of red-orange colored gasket squished underneath the tower. They look a little warped with some of the material poking out from the center of the tower. Is this the gasket that is referred to in the following quote?

I think it is. When I take off my rear shocks to cut the bumpstops I will put in the exhaust gasket material instead of the red paper one. I am also leaning towards installing some motivational mounts in there.
does each package come with both sides or do I have to buy 2 of each item listed?
why are there two pics of the bottom items? looks confusing.
Are there rubber bushings in the front as well? looks like to differnt part numbers but they look the same.
thanks

Any items that have two pictures are just different angles, top or bottom, etc.
There are many rubber bushings in the suspension, front and rear, and none of them are interchangable.
