The ACT is Amazing !!!

GEEZ...Tonight I was at 530 miles and I really wanted to wait till 600 but when I passed a a hooked up prelude on the highway and he rolls up next to me a revs..I needed to race we took off...Man I chirped 2nd without even trying....this clutch is friging amazing...my car is soo much faster and the shifts are just right there...matched up with my Short throw its like heaven...After beating the prelude I went back to my house to check everything underneath because my shift into 2nd was violent as hell..then pulling out of my driveway I chirped second and wanted to see if this clutch was all what everyone said it was...MAN it chirped third so nice...that was music on my ears since with my old clutch i couldnt even chirp 2nd...

-Matt

when I chirp second I get soo much wheel hop...when I do the suspension next month it will probably eliminate most of that right >??

ACT clutches are terrific. I have one in my RX-7 and it grabs like a motha____.

About the break-in, make sure you just don't drive 500 miles on the highway leaving it in 5th gear. You have to shift gently through the gears to really break it in

Glad you like the clutch As far as wheel hop goes suspension helps, but anything short of strenghtened engine mounts won't help too much. When I shift 1-2 hard I can make CDs skip and it feels like I just launched the car from a standstill. I originally planned on strengthening my engine mounts, but I don't know if I'll get around to it this summer. Just stay away from the PR engine mounts.

Is it better to do a lightened flywheel along with a clutch upgrade for best performance?

Honestly I am not sure how much of a difference it will make. . . I am getting a deal on the flywheel and since I am not sure of the condition of the one I currently have, due to the abuse it has had recently, and the fact that we will have a limited time to install the clutch; I have decided that having a new flywheel installed is probably the best plan.

It is supposed to get through 1st gear really quick though. . .

Place Racing motor mounts are nice they eliminate alot of the wheel hopping I recommend them. If your into modifying the ride go for it if your like some .org girls that just complain dont do it.

Matty if you drop force induction in that car or Nitrous and that ACT clutch when you press on the gas from 2nd gear it will paste your back to the seat, you also will chirp 4th gear, then you know youll be loving life. Glad to hear your liking that ACT. Next time I will get a alloy flywheel and test it out myself and lets see what happens, and also I will go with the next step above the street setup.

Good point. Thanks That's what I usually do.

But I figured it was a 1 word answer, so this time I didn't bother.
