ECU codes for the Max same for the Pathfinder?

Hey guys, I recently convinced my friend to get a 98 Pathfinder (XE) over a Toyota 4 Runner (scores another one for Nissan ) and as me and him were going through his manual today, I was explaining to him about the ECU, service light and how to diagnose problems and a thought came to mind, and I was wondering if the ECU codes for the 4th gen Max are the same for the Pathfinder. Seeing how his is a 98, I'm guessing they use the same ECU system as a 4th gen? I did a search, but didn't find much.

Example: the code 0308 will indicate an "ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR" problem on the Max, would it also apply to the Pathfinder?

prolly not exactly the same. diffeerent engines and all = different sensors.

he should get a work manual and or search the web for 2nd gen Pathfinder codes.

The ECU does work the same way.

Thanks for the info

I was thinking the same thing too, but needed to be sure.

Speaking of engine types, my friend noticed that the new Super Charged Frontiers use the same 3.3 engine as the 2nd gen Pathfinder so he went down to a Nissan Dealership and asked if they'd install an Eaton supercharger in his Pathfinder and apparently it's possible but would cost like $5000 Can. to do it.
Interesting idea....

I heard the Max shares some parts with the Quest minivan also. Haven't found anything useful to take from the Quest though...

Apparently the VG motor still lives on in the Quest. Hope the VQ develops that same legendary reliability. Come to think of it, it pretty much already has
