Timing chain noise is back...OH, NO!!!!
Well, I started up the Max today and the noise I did not want to hear was the timing chain. I already know from earlier experience that this is a common problem in the 4th generations, because all my chains (including both cams) and tensioners were all replaced at 30,000 miles. Luckily, this was covered under warranty, but now at 115,000 miles I have no intentions of replacing them again. The repair is just to expensive! The noise isn't as loud and apparent as before, but having to hear a quiet idle for about 85km+, I did not want to come across this again! Well, I'm due for an oil change anyway, so I'll change the oil today and see if the noise somewhat disappears. Actually, sometimes this helps. Well, I just wanted to share this with you guys, because I know anybody with this particular problem fears upon this noise, also.
If you are using or leaking oil, you can get that noise when the level drops, since oil pressure drops as well. Are you sure that they did actually fix it like they were suposed to? Something else to consider. My Nissan Mechanic used something called Motor Honey, since my milage is getting high, and that helped me alot. I dont normally like to use additives, but it did help alot.
