Painted Gray Trim Around Altezzas Body Color *pics*

Sorry for the bad lighting, but it's night. The body shop painted the gray trim around my altezzas body color (pearl white 3-stage paint). Tell me what you guys think.

:o)

Is that external or did you crack those babies open? I have had Altezzas sitting in my garage since winter break. I keep saying I am going to open them and get them painted body color (white). I am just too scared to open them! So there they continue to sit...

Well I told the body shop guy to paint the chrome on the tail lights body color and he just painted the trim. It makes it look a lot cleaner, almost like it could be stock (like rx300). But I think I'm going to go back and get the rest of the chrome painted over because it is just too shiny during sunlight.

It looks good but I still might prefer painting the whole clear around the circle like some people have done. Then they resemble skyline lights. If you haven't seen that mod it is on vqpower.com.

looks good

I did the same thing with my C/F altezzas. I just couldn't stand that nasty fat gray line around the edges. Seriously, I don't know what they were thinking when they designed these lights... I don't think that gray line looks good with any car color. I have a black '98 and I used the smoke tint from autodynamic.com, I think it came out really nice. That is some quality spray tint right there, the gloss in it really shines and matches perfectly with the rest of my car. It makes the C/F blend in smooth with the trunk, nice and neat. For anyone with a black Max, 3 coats of this stuff will match your paint perfectly. Too bad I don't have a digicam for the pics. This was done on the outside of the fixture. Very easy to do, all it takes is time and effort, and a buttload of masking tape and newspaper. Just make sure you take your time with the lines and cover your car up really well so you don't get any of the paint drifting onto the body, and be sure to get the masking tape made for paint so it doesn't bleed through.
