97 SE Auto VS Cadilliac Deville 01

I'm racing my friend some time later in the month I hope. I'm getting a y-pipe tommorow that I ordered from budget. I'm getting more mods asap. What do you guys think, he can't drive and won't be able to launch as good as me so I think that will give me a good boost. The specs on his car is v8 4.3 liter 275 hp engine vs my maxima. Also, his car weighs more I believe. Any other mods I can do fast and cheap under 500 to give me a better edge.

Edit: I'm not sure what model he has, the DTS does 0-60 in 7.7 and the DHS does it in 7.2.

It'll be close 0-60. If you don't win by 60, the cadillic will own you from then on.

Slam in an intake to go with your y-pipe if you haven't already... Without it, the gains of the y-pipe are bottlenecked from the start, less air in... Also, you might want to get a PR CAI, or some other CAI system, where the gains are down low, the HAI has it's gains up top... You might also want to try getting a UDP to help out

Just mash the gas pedal.. I hope you were talking about torque braking when you said your friend can't drive..

Anyway.. I think it should be a close race, you have a good chance. Cadillacs weigh as much as a tank..

Yes, and do you know how much they weigh? According to edmunds.com, 4096 pounds. It would be a good match for an auto maxima, but a 5 speed should definetely be able to take it (with a good driver).
