Locking or non locking diff for 1995 Automatic Maxima SE?

replacing the trans in my mom 1995 auto max and we need to know if its supposed to have the locking or non-locking diff because the junkyard has both. So which one is it supposed to have? thank you

Also, if you happen to know of a place that sells rebuilt trans for 1995 max in the Detroit/Downriver Michigan area's, please email me at bmr4life@excite.com cause my mom's just blew and she needs a replacement quick.

1995 Auto trannys didn't come with locking diff.

Is the junk yard looking at an I30t transmission? It will fit into your car. A drive shaft will have to be changed as well if you go with the I30t tranny. It's a better transmission, probably newer too.

I would say use the search, but whats the point anymore. Your a Maximaniac

NO 4th Gen (95-99) Maxima originally sold in the USA has a locking diff.

If you check the plate on the firewall about 4 lines down, if its RE4F04A is an open diff, if its RE4F04V its Limited Slip. Same # should be on the transmission as well.

For certain, any 4th gen tranny, with varying amounts of work.

These are the available trannies

4 Speed Auto / 5 Speed Manual

4 Speed Auto /5 Speed Manual w/ Viscous Limited Slip Diff (available on Max's in Canada and the Infiniti I30T in America)

Jime from the post above is in Canada and he has a LSD Auto tranny

If you want to know how to install these, I suggest the stickies or a search.
