Our 4th Gen door chime is annoying, agreed?
I'm pretty sure that we can agree our door chimes are pretty annoying, especially if left on for an extended period of time.
I actually found out where the chime comes from. It's a little off-white box with a harness that's mounted to the plastic dash piece under the steering wheel. You just need to take the two phillips screws out from either side, and then pull the panel straight out.
Does anyone know if this chime can be replaced? It seems simple enough. It's just a harness that connects to a sound-making-thinga-ma-jigger.
Anyway, feedback and experiences are very welcome. thanks.

I know Toyota's have a nice sound. My family's Previa has an "airplane" type of beep.
::ding ding:: "all passengers please secure your seatbelts"

I pulled the connector off of that chime relay shortly after buying my 96 Maxima. You'll loose the seatbelt warning chime but also the one for leaving the key in the ignition and maybe a headlight left on warning chime. I don't remember on the headlight warning anymore since it's been disconnected for over six years now. I love the quiet!
