Hi People,
Does anyone know if a full size SE (16" x 6.5) rim would fit in place of the donut spare without sticking out of the spare wheel well.

Thanks!

the se full size rim is to wide for the space. the spare tire trunk cover sits on top of the rim and wobble.

Full size spare

You must mean too tall. I have a 17x7 spare in my trunk. I got rid of the trunk cover and filled in the middle of the spare so the trunk in reasonably flat when it's covered.

I have a 205/65/R15 for a spare tire. It is a steel wheel and tire of 2000 Camry. It is sticking about 1/2" out of on the top. I stil use the spare tire trunk cover and it's not wobbly. You have to take those two foams of the spare tire trunk cover. The the spare tire screw lock or whatever you call it, it's not long enough so it can not be used however the spare tire is so snug in place anyway that it is not gonna go anywhere.

by chance?

I was just curious,
did anyone's car come with a facotry full size spare when you purchashed it? or this is not soemthing standard. I see in the manual that there is a picture of a full size spare (the 15" SE type 7 spoked sawtooth type" wheels?
I saw someone got that in a Cefiro--but not the Max huh?

wished they came with a full size spare--which would be a lot more helpful...in the case if there is a blowout.

The 97-98 SE in Canada comes with a full size 16x6.5
5-spoke. The hardboard is removed from the carpet, and it does stick out a bit.

lucky guys and gals

who own a maxima in canada...they get to have the full size spare...I am assuming that it is an annoy rim.
hmmm...why is it that they get the full size in canada, but not us folks down here in the states...

wonder if I can complain to Nissan about that disparity---and they will say "shooo, you annoying little pest..."

I have a full-size spare

I live in Toronto and my SE max came with the 15" "sawtooth" full-size spare. It seems we get better max's here in Canada, hehe, VLSD and full-size spares.

Re: I have a full-size spare

need I say more? that is exactly it. I saw that diagram in the owners manual and I thought'what? where are they giving out full size spares?"

btw, does it fit all the way comfortably in the trunk space for the spare or does it wedge up a bit? I am thinking about picking up a full size rim to put a tire on --

Are you confident that the Camry wheel fits your Maxima? [I'm not suggesting it doesn't, just seeking information.] Some non-Nissan wheels have the same lug pattern but the center hole is different. It does matter.

Wheels and tires

Dan brings up a good point. When I winterized my wheels and tires, I set out and got 15" 3rd Gen Max wheels for my 4th Gen. I figured they've gotta fit, and they do.

I believe it does

this is the 92 and beyond camry...I had a 93 camry and it came with a full size spare. And the thing about it was that it mirrored the Nissan exactly.
It is a good spare to have...
