1 of 2 Spring questions: H&Rs with stock struts?

I like my stock ride on straight roads, but not on curves. I want better handling, and would like a mild drop as well. H&Rs seem to fit the bill. The question is, at 58,000 miles, can I run H&Rs with my stock GLE struts? If yes, for how long before I go to better struts?

Money is tight right now. I need to go at least a year. Can stock struts make it?

From almost ALL posts on this subject people say NOT to run your stock struts w/aftermarket springs. I would recommend waiting until you can changeout the springs and the struts all together.

if you drive on crappy roads, and drive pretty agressively, they might not last that long. if the roads are smooth, and you drive like a grandma, they might last.

I assume he meant w/ stock struts. I doubt anyone would be THAT harsh about your struts. I wish I had the $ to do springs and struts, but I have a good offer on rims and tires, and a good offer on H&Rs, and my bank is limited. If i do the rims and tires, I will have bad wheelgap until I can get the H&Rs or other drop springs installed...

I did the H&R's with stock SE struts @ 60K. After very agressive driving, they were dead enough to be dangerous after 3 months and 5K miles.
