Check Engine light

i jus installed my injen CAI like 2 days ago.. i drove it around.. the light was off.. i turned it off and turned tha car bak on.. and bam.. the chek engine light didnt turn off.. is this normal? and how can i fix that? how do i diagnos my ECU? err.. i tried the battery thing.. didnt do shyt.. reconnected the heat sensor.. help me out guyz.. thanx .. peace
