Aight i just installed my Vi and when i went to start the car it runs for a few sec and then just dies, I havn't done the vacuum or rpm switch and was wondering if the car should still run with out that on. please if anyone can help me out asap thatd be cool. Also as far as i know all the sensors and hoses are back on where they should be.

The manifold should definitely work without the RPM switch portion. Make sure all you connections have been snapped tight. Also, make sure all vacuum tubing has been secure. Still, even with a major vacuum leak, the car should not die after a few seconds... it'll run pretty damn rough but should idle nonetheless. My guess is that maybe one of your connections is not quite in.

As for idling rough, I think you should double check the vacuum lines. If it's not that, listen closely to the front upper-to-lower manifold gasket--with a stethescope if you must--there may be a leak there. Sometimes that gasket may not be perfectly aligned or the bolts holding the manifold down may not be torqued down tight enough. Sounds to me like there is a leak somewhere though...
