Yep definately sound like a loose/worn out belt. Go to a mechanic or preferably nissan dealer to have it checked out.

Same here.......
My car has been doing the same thing except that it is more when the cooling fan is about to come on till it shuts off. It does it like clockwork.
Approx 10 sec before the fan comes on you can hear the noise "comming on" Then it gets to its full loudness and continues till the fans go off.

If you rev the engine it will go away while the rpm's are up and start again when it returns to idle.

My car has 73k on it with the orig belts. Im leaning towards that but the sound is not a belt squeel it is more of a high pitched whistle like a vacuum leak. I cannot pinpoint where it is coming from.
Its driving me nutz..........

My car is a 96 GLE btw........
