Does 95 ECU work for my 97???
Well my friend had a 95 maxima se 5 spd he totaled it in an accident with a cop(cops fault)Anyways I was wondering,he'll give me anypart of his max for free as long as I replace it with my part.I've heard the 95-96 ecu (obd1) is much better than my 97 maximas (obd2) will it bolt right up to mines and what would I have to do to make this happen?Oh by the way im a 97 maxima 5 spd!

Yes, it works fine. I have a GForce ECU from a 95 Maxima in my 97 5-speed. I have experienced no check engine light issues (light stays off), and the car runs the same as with the stock 97 ECU.
You will see no performance improvements with a stock 95 ECU in your car. None. The fact that the 95 ECU is OBD-I does not mean there is any performance benefit. The only benefit of the 95 ECU is - like in my case - you can have it modified by GForce or Jim Wolf. ECUs from 97-up cannot be modified/tuned. That's where the benefit lies.
