no the traction bar cannot come unlocked from hitting a bump, there are jam nuts on it that locked it in place. And there is heavy duty hardware that secure it in place at the two mounting locations.

Can you take detailed pictures of the mounting points with the tire off. Removing the tire might show us the unit installed as a whole in one picture.

Oh, I see what you are talking about. It is not black, it is just the lighting. It is actually shiny because of the powder coat. Every where else that is not shiny is just dirty.

I'm definitely interested in these as well. I have seen these on 4th gens. Are these usually installed and left on for daily driving or just on for the drag strip?

They are designed so you can leave them on for everyday driving as well as using them at the drag strip.

I think it's lighting. The bar got the same exact glare on the other pic which was taken from the other side, where there is no tire.

Rotate the bar 180* and you will get the rub on both sides .

Here are the pictures of the mounting locations that some of you asked for.

front

rear

( the bars in these pictures aren't fully powder coated. When you purchase your set they will be perfectly powder coated )

Do the bars mount in existing holes? I know the front one is there but what about in the lower control arm?

Definitely interested but I've only had my car a month, want to make sure nothing major pops up with it before I start modding it.

Looks to be a much easier install than ladder bars were on my old Chevelle.

I have a set on my '99 - the first batch that Jclaw sold - and I love 'em. They let me launch on slicks at the strip with no wheel bounce or hop and no torque steer. And they have seen a lot of use - and have never been off the car after installation. I did have to bend them to clear the automatic on the driver's side, and the oil filter on the pass. side - 4th gens are kinda tight.

But mine weren't powder coated...

they are not made by jclaw and I dont know if they have the same mounting location because I've never seen the jclaw tractions bars. Also my traction bars do not be to be altered like the jclaw ones.
