WTB: OEM Muffler or one a smidgen louder ;)

Ola org,

My muffler recently rusted off at the connection to the rest of the piping. However it sounds quite nice i must add.

So on that note, what do ya'll have for me?

Suggestions are also welcome; something with a lil more rumble would be suitable as well.

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year to everyone!

get either the cattman catback or just the rear section(muffler). Would look sleeker than stock and a nice tone that's not too loud and not too stockish.

Thanks for your comments gents.

Anyone put a G35 sedan/coupe muffler on their car? Probably toying with the idea of either that or a Cattman muffler/catback.

Getting the bees in a can sound and guessing its from my flexpipe so i'll need that as well.

decisions decisions...

putting g35 mufflers on your car will not make your exhaust sound like one ^__^ bees in the can sound is probably your catalytic converter's honeycomb rattling inside. Might as well get the whole cattman exhaust setup header >> high flow cat >> catback make it sound awesome and you get performance you can feel also. (^__^)-b

Yeah i acknowledge that the muffler wont make my ride sound like one, should add a little kick though...

I was hoping that it was the flex pipe, just had the cat replaced last year.... can't drop all that loot right now on this.

Iill see how everything plays out. perhaps some kind soul will help a brother in need....

Thanks for your input.

Putting on G35 muffler means you need to reconfigure a new b-pipe since it's not direct bolt-on. And if you look at your b-pipe right after the resonator, there's a big pinch which restricts air-flow. So when you replace the b-pipe, more noise will be produced. Also the G35 muffler functions the same as 5th gen mufflers due to the valve inside which opens/closes to control the noise.

icey, thanks for the insight sir.

just to get the lingo straight, i think people are using different words for the same item.

its goes as i know:

headers -> y-pipe -> flex pipe -> cat -> mid-pipe/b-pipe -> resonator -> muffler

sounds right?

We have a OEM b-pipe with a straight pipe in place of the resonator and a Magnaflow muffler rear section mated to the stock axleback.

Interested?
