Hey guys im looking for a used pre cat for a 2000 federal emissions, and also possible oem muffler for the same. Dont particulary want to spend 200 or more on a stupid converter that in my opinion is useless.

 

I think you'd have better luck at a junkyard, especially for a pre-cat.

 

YEAH but it it unfortunately against the law for a junkyard to sell a cat.....

 

Wow I didn't know that. You were talking about the cats on the y-pipe correct? If so just grab a whole y-pipe and a muffler.

 

i was talking about the precat.....nears the headers...

 

most likely you will not find the precats at any junk yard dut to them recycling them for the precious metals that are inside. Not to mention it is illegal to sell them as mentioned above. Best bet is to buy an aftermarket pre cat. There are a few vendors who sell them, though I cannot vouche for any vendor in particular.

Do a search on the org, another guy has asked the same question about a month ago and a couple of guys and I had posted links to a few aftermarket options.

They are china junk that is deffinetly not as good as OEM but much much cheaper.

 

by precisou metals you mean platinum....there are some people that will pay for used cats....

 

yes and yes I have sold used cats before to guys that cut them up and resell the platinum.
