Progress Coilovers

I purchased these from forum member The Law about two months ago. He stated he had about 30,000 miles on them, they were rebuilt by Progress about 15,000 miles ago and cost about $180 to rebuild all four. I had them on my car about one month before I realized these Bay Area roads plus my old age are not suited for daily commuting with coilovers. They ran tight and smooth otherwise and lowered my car better than any suspension combo I've had to date. The grey ones on there now are 550 front and 500 rear. The Law said he thought the blue/green ones are 450 front and 400 or 350 rear and are the ones that originally came with the set. For the fronts, you'll need to use your existing upper strut mounts.

I'm asking exactly what I paid for them $550 plus shipping. Box is heavy, about 50lbs. I prefer postal money order but if paying by Pay Pal you cover the fees. PM if interested. First come, first serve, no dibs. Selling as is.

Guys (and gals),

I'm having a bit of an "issue" that I don't feel comfortable with-shipping.

I have everything in the smallest box possible 23"l X 11"w X 9"h (an old KYB strut box) but the weight I'm seeing roughly 83lbs! I basically weighed myself on a home scale then weighed myself holding the box and subtracted my weight. While I know this isn't conventional, this is the closest "estimate" I can come up with.

For those interested, I'm posting this first before responding to PMs as to not shock anyone with a shipping quote. However, I will only charge true shipping so if it's over by "x" amount, I'll refund the difference.

To be fair, I'm going by first PMs first. Thanks.

I shipped a complete set of d2 coilovers from ct to sc for 30 bucks.. Parcel post... I didnt have extra springs so my box would be slightly smaller than yours... And weigh less but it should be around 50-60 to ship parcel post

Thanks for the info.... I did own a pair of K Sport coilovers that I never used and shipped them and they too where cheaper. However....

Note to anyone that buys these; these are not made of billet aluminum. These things are freakin' SOLID. I would describe the construction as heavy duty, as holding a complete unit is pretty heavy.

I'll take them to the local UPS store tomorrow and get them properly weighed.

Yeah I'm pretty bummed about selling them. But these Bay Area roads...especially in Oakland are brutal.

My BC's with a ton of packing in the boxes weighed 30 plus pounds so you can't be weighing that much. USPS Parcel Post from Mass to Tn costed me 35.00.

Have the coil overs sold? I don't have stock mounts to put on :/ so that's the biggest issue. Would u take 475 in light of the cost for shipping and mount replacement?

Really?

Once again I'll say this; these are NOT billet. These are NOT light. Did you have an extra pair of springs in your box as well?

"You can't be weighing that much." I just got back from the postal store. Official weight is 78 lbs! I was 5 lbs off.

I'm not personally attacking you or anyone else. I'm showing that sometimes comparing similar items is fine but in this case it isn't. These things are heavy duty. Brian Cattman did his homework in having these built and the buyer will see what I'm talking about.

Not trying to be an azz but most people want to buy low and sell high. I'm not that kind of person. I'm selling these for what I paid for them plus actual shipping cost. I don't have to sell them, I want to. If they don't sell no biggie, the new owner of my Maxima will just get a bonus in the trunk.

Guys.....the price he is asking for is what he paid me. These are not lightly built coilovers. These are very heavy as I was the one that sold him these coilovers, so I know the weight of these things. These are WORTH every penny that he's asking for and more! Lowballing him is going to get you nowhere fast and I will defend every post in here if I have to because I owned these and know the worth of these coilovers. These are the rarest of rare coilovers for the maxima and these are also the BEST built coilovers for a maxima. NEVER ONCE have I ever had any problems with these coilovers for long as I've owned them and had them on my car (over 4 years).

How good would you say these are for tracking? I'm iffy on the fact it uses stock mounts. I'm sure its awesome for daily use, but my maxima will be seeing the track a few times.

Not doubting at all. As I'm running coils I offered what I thought was fair minus shipping. I didn't feel 475+shipping was low balling considering I'd have to buy mounts. Shrug. Glws
