5th gen Maxima Retrofit Headlights

It's time to let these go and create a different one. Included in the sale is a pair of 5th gen Maxima Retrofit headlights with G37 3" BiX projectors and STI-R lenses on Ebay dual reflector housings + phillips 85122 HID bulbs.

I built this almost 2 years ago as a quad system but it is a dual setup now and has been in my daily driver ever since. It has been thru rain, snow, sleet, ice, hails, etc. The original quad setup won HIDP retrofit of the month bragging right and I'm sure you are familiar with the built process. check it out in this thread below.

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...-build-11.html

http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...l=1#post483387

Cons:
1. I have opened and closed this light many times for reason of prototyping components, so they are not as smooth and look new anymore but they are in excellent working condition. Headlights buckets has few patch up holes and scuff marks. Some of the tabs and alignment pins are fixed/refurbished. Ask for pics if you like.
2. The turn and parking signal connectors have some corrosion. Right now I have electrical glue/liquid over them but it needs permanent fix.
3. Headlight lenses are showing its age and slight hazing. Car sat outside all summer long and I have not done my diligent to wax it to maintain the UV protection. This + Ebay quality parts = hazing. Hope you can see it from pics below,

Size: 46.7 KB.
4. Minor condensation on both lights during heavy rain. This condensation is not water/moisture leak issue but it is more how the heat and air flow inside the headlights. Misting will go away on its own. 5mg silican gel packet inside, would take care of that. I will take picture of this when it happens next time
5. The Bi-X high beam is strong but the high beam reflector ( TSX bucket) is for show only. It has halogen bulbs and they are wired but not aimed properly.

Pro:
1. LED turn signal is awesome!
2. I have been very happy with the G37 bi-X. Its not the most exotic projector out there but if offers good balance between intensity, width, and distance.

I spent close to $625 on parts alone to complete this retro, not including hours and hours to complete it. I'm asking $270 + shipping but open to reasonable offers. I can send pics or video for certain things you want to see.

03/08/14 Added Pics

Here is more pics of the headlights. Tried to get as close up as possible..

UV coating peeling off and sllight hazing. I would think that if this is wet sanded and polish, it's going to look new again.

These connectors are prone to water leak, ( nature of Ebay low quality headlight). I added electrical tape on both sides to seal it. It's been holding up for 2 years, but it should be replaced with freah ones to maintain tight water seal

Make offers, any offers!

Please read the add entirely before making offers though. I'd be glad to answer any questions that you may have. It's been sitting on the shelf collecting dust now and I need that shelf space!!!

Remember, this was on my 00 SE for 2 years, so no it's not new. Here is a quick breakdown of the cost when it was new
$180 for Headlights
$130 for Projectors + Clear Lens
$40 for good used Phillips 85122 bulbs
$50 for LED turn signal.
$15 for LED parking bulb.
$100 for brackets and hours and hours of designing and prototyping.
$50 for Shrouds, shroud extensions, TSX high beam reflectors, high beam bulb
$30 for Rubber caps, hardwares, cable, connector, glue, etc
$20 for paint

So, more than $600 worth + countless hours

00-01 fitment, plug and play, only need to remove the bottom plastic support which the OEM 5th gen headlight connects to. My car is 00.

02-03 fitment, should fit, the quad retro for MaximaSE86 is just like this headlights. How well it fits, not sure.

It should still be easy install if you still have the OEM harness. Take the old headlights ( doesn't matter if it has HID convertion or not), put these in with ballasts and you're good to go. You do need a relay to make this work, which is about $20 from ebay ( or I can look at my spare parts I might have spare I can give you for free). I can also walk you thru the install or I can take pics of my current install

You could also send me pics of your current headlights and I can exactly tell what you have,

PM if you are serious.

Im debating selling my 5.5 headlights and buying these honestly lol. Just the housings or do they come with ballasts and all that haply stuff? Id probably buy a relay harness from TRS and some adapters if needed too... Not my first retro setup but this is a lil more advanced than ive done lol

This sale doesn't come with Ballasts or Relay, but I can always add to it. Shoot me an offer and we'll go from there

Gah, I should have looked at this. I just bought a kit like I mentioned on your HIDplanet thread. Bump for excellent quality.

You wouldn't be interested in doing my retro for me in my 00-01 housings and sending these in the meantime to use and I pay the $270 until your done and send them back and you keep whatever you want for labor would you?
