CA WTB: 5spd transmission
WTB: 5spd transmission
The bearings on my manual tranny of 215k miles are starting to crap out on me. So I'm in the market now for a younger manual tranny, since I'm not sure yet if I want to fork up the $1100 for a tranny rebuild. Here's the catch: my Maxima is a '96 SE, but I heard apparently the 2000-2001 5spd trannys are bolt-on-able and compatible with 4th gens? Is this true???
Yes you can use a 00-01 tranny. Only thing is your shifter will sit back about half an inch or so. (Not a big deal at all) especially if you have a short shifter (00-01 trans will actually shift it back toward the middle).
Cool, thanks for the info. Good to know. Always considered getting a short shifter but never did, so the shifter is stock.
So the post remains. If anybody's got a used 00-01 manual tranny they wanna sell lemme know
