Do you need the exhaust manifold plus the pre cats or just the pre cats?

I will have these parts within a couple weeks after I get my exhaust done. I was thinking about keeping them in case I need to go stock but that probably wont happen. From a 2002

I have manifolds oem if needed. No precats just manifold.
