Aftermarket Head Unit

First Post here, longtime reader. I have the comfort and convenience package, which includes the steering wheel mounted audio controls. I was wondering, do these still work after you get an aftermarket cd player? They control the volume, and track selection or radio station switching.

no they will not. they are made specific to work with that clarion unit. You can try an aftermarket clarion unit to see if it works, but i highly doubt it. sorry dude.

Actually...you can buy adapters that will make them work with your aftermarket HU. I believe Crutchfield has these. Do a search and you will find your answer, but yes it is possible.
