and what .......in your opinion are the best brake pads??

 

I'm on 35K miles and they are starting to sqeek, it's probably brake dust but I was thinking about redoing the rotors soon so I may change the pads as well.

 

i got to about 33k on them... then the squeeking annoyed the hell out of me!

 

My rotors warped before the pads needed replacement... 15000 miles.
The dealer gave me new rotors and new pads, after saying the pads were worn 80%.

Do you want "tbe best brake pads" for everyday street use?

23k....the from rotors were warped....but they check the rear brake pad...had 75 % left.

 

I installed the 300zx brake kit and switched pads before the pads were worn down so I don't know...

I use Hawk Performance pads. They're excellent.
If you do consider them, get the regular Hawks, not the Hawk blues. The Hawk blues are only for racing (they need to be at least 400 F to start working which isn't good for city driving).

i'm at 40K miles and they are squeaking once in a blue moon but shaking at high speeds.

i'm just curious....after how many miles is it "normal" to replace brakes? maximas seem to have a short brake life. i can't even bother bringing them in for the brake judder tsb since i'm past warranty!

 

i'm at 58+K miles, and i have yet to change the stock pads or rotors (yes, i know. not the smartest thing ).. BUT that is what i plan to do in the next few days/weeks. just have to order some and find a place to install them .....

 

Can some1 tell me how to tell if u have a warped rotor ? Is it from squeaking noise when breaking or do u have to take it to a mechanic and have the diagnosed like break pads? Thanks.

 

when you apply pressure to the brakes the wheels wobble/judder as you apply more pressure to the brakes....if it happens every single time you brake then ya got warped rotors (or no brakes...lol..just kidding) the tsb explains it in more detail and the tsb is found in the sticky at the top of the 5th gen forum
