Map Light Bulbs and Vanity Bulbs

After doing a search, I am still confused. I have all Polarg interior bulbs in my doors and overhead dome and love them. Now I want to match them with my map light and vanity lights. Here is the question:

I have seen the map light referred to as 1156. Well, Polarg has three different 1156 bulbs - PLG M7, PLG M8, and PLG M9. I believe M7 and M9 are white and M8 is yellow. The differnce in M7 and M9 is wattage - M7 = 21w and M8 = 27w.

Which one do I get?

Also, what the heck bulb goes in the vanity lights on the visors?

There's a thread in parts for sale if you search on Polarg bulbs for sale - that guy had map and vanity lights - I bought Polarg hyperwhite for my map light, dome light and interior door lights - they all match and look nice. Unfortunately, I threw away the box or I would give you the number - if you do that search, you'll find the guy's thread - e-mail him and he'll give you the price. I did it and it worked out fine.

Good luck.

Yeah...I was hopin' you wouldn't notice that, and just be mesmerized by the amount of lights on the specs sheet.:D

I've added up over $300 I want to spend on bulbs alone!

Anybody have the answer yet? M7 or M8? I know the
dome is M16 and the map is M26 I believe.

Try auto AUTOTOYS.COM go to the STORE & look under bubls. There's one called the BA9S or something like that. You will see a picture, it is the correct size for the maplights.

They don't have Polargs though.

You're planning on running 21W in the maplights??? Good luck! you'll probably blow a fuse, and/or have something melt...

Buy the BA9S WHITE ones that autotoys has & you'll be set. Stick with the stock wattage & you should be good.

Hey Warren...

I finally did my Polarg dome light that I got from 'ya when my door lights came in this week, so they would all match, and they all look pimp. Thanks... By the way, I also ordered an extra pair of the door light type to fit in the dual license plate lights in the rear, and they look sweet there too, they match my rear clears with the Polargs nicely and give the plate an eerie UFO look late at night... Very integrated look. Now I just have to decide if I wanna do something crazy like put a bright red wedge bulb in my trunk lamp... That one trunk bulb and the map/vanity bulbs are the only ones on my car that I haven't changed out now... :D

man im having the same problem, i can not find the correct bulb to go in there, all i keep hearing is that its discontinued. i think the M26 should work just fine and thinkin bout getting that as well. im also have a problem with the rear turn signals its a 1156/M9 bulb but the prong on a 1156 bulb are in line. the ones in my car are at a wierd angle so im thinking of just getting 2 M9's and just sanding off one of the prongs a sauder another one on, or just leave one on. aslo the rear turn signals i havent done. man im laggin on the bulbs does any1 know what kind of bulbs go in the reverse light?
