Maybe not, but your Mom might kick the $hit out of you.

Dumb question. Can you ask your mom or dad to call insurance and report it, saying that one of them was driving the car at the time (whoever is on the insurance policy) ???

dude- you dont need an attorney. But here's what you do need is to have your parents (whoever is on insurance) call in the claim, and ONLY IF asked, say that they were driving. It is highly unlikely that your insurance company will ask your parents who was driving, because no second vehicle was involved, and no police officer was at the scene (you didnt call the cops did you?) to acknowledge you were driving. I've been in your shoes, don't worry, you'll be just fine.

Well the big dent in the roof is gonna stay, honestly its almost invisable when the rack is on since its under the left foot of the rack. as for the scratches one of them is real bad and allthough my step dad is a professional car painter and detailer hes too damn lazy to work on it so ill have to deal. As for bike Im gonna have to str8in out my spokes and as for the rack ill end up gettin a new one or "swapping" this one at ****s

As I'm sure that AdamK knows, retaining the services of an attorney to seek damages from the parking garage is just ONE of the options he has. However, in my personal, honest opinion... it's unlikely he would get compensation from them. BUT, he has to decide, is it MORE likely his mother would file the claim on his behalf? Or, would he rather fix the damages out of his own pocket... driving around for a few months with his pride and joy all marred?

Again, this is only my opinion, but I would rather fight a parking garage than make a proposition of this nature to my mother. I'd also TRY to get some money from the garage than just... roll over and play dead.

*sigh*

Decisions, decisions.

Hehe, I've had a conversation with a couple people and I've agreed to tone it down a little... No worries. No offense taken.

Hmmm this is dumb!

I am not usually the type to say this.....but this is pretty dumb! Did you not realize that the bike on the roof was pretty tall!? How is it their fault that you go driving around with a bike on the roof!?

I feel your pain....but I don't see how you will get compensated from your brain fart.

Oh, I get it... you want everybody to feel sorry for you cause you ripped us off to get cheap insurance and now you can't file a claim.

Oh, I'm so sorry.

Quite a track record going here. Try to scam the insurance company and you get burnt. What would have happened if you had hit another car. And now you want to force someone else to pay for your lapses in reason: insurance and driving with a bike on your roof in a parking garage. What's next, are you going to drive around at night with your lights off and then threaten to sue the first person that hits you?

BuddyWH and JFriar:

Are you guys blind or just responding without reading posts. BuddyWH I just dont like you period. Friar: I know your a newbie but really understand, b4 you post you read the thread and try to get it through your thick skull:

I was driving into a parking garage with a clearence sign that was bend and unvisable by cars hence it got hit. dont tell me what i did was stupid or anything of that matter. If your gonna talk about insurance fraud than why dont you just chill the heck out, i have insurance on my car and im simply not a driver on the policy which means if something does happen than insurance covers it but my insurance goes up. one year and nothing. for your info i wrote a nice klong letter the the new haven parking authority explaining what happened and insurance has nothing or will not do anything with it. read before you speak, this thread will prolly get locked soon so back on track i got a new rof attachment and well jfriar happy to see another cool maxima memeber from conn. hopefully we can race some time

Stop talking about insurance fraud. He has a clear cut case no matter who was driving the car. Think back when you were his age. I personally was driving my dad piece of shinizay Buick ...why...because the insurace was too much to have the nice Mustang I wanted!

Focus your insurance fraud anger more on the thieves or are selling HIDs to crooked body shops to replace them on the cars that they just stole them off of!!
