6 speed transmission
6 speed seems to have same gear ratios as previous 5 speed because rpms are the same in each gear at same speeds (6th excluded of course). I am scepticle that it is "all new" except for cable linkage vs. rods for previouse version.
The gear ratios are not the same. Someone did list the ratios somewhere on here, do a search for them. On the previous Maxima 5spd you could do damn near 140 in 4th, with the 6spd, 120 is redline in 4th. And the spec v tranny is different too, it has way different ratios and a linkage shifter, so I doubt it's the same.
