Poll: who would buy a short shifter for their 2k2/2k3 6-speed if it were available?

i am curious to know the demand for a short shifter for the new 6-speeds. i really want one myself and i am going to look into getting one custom made. i wanted to take a poll see if the demand is high enough for a shop to try to produce them and sell them for us.

just for reference, stillen's short throw shifter for 95-01 maximas is about $240 for anyone who wanted an idea of how much short shifters cost (keep in mind that is STILLEN's price)

If it improved shift feel/performance, but retained the nice look of the stock one (don't color it or put neon lights in it, etc) and had a price of ~$150US max. I would seriously consider it.

I had the Hurst short throw (the straight chrome one, not the one in the SS or WS6) on my Z28 and loved it. Great feel and much improved throws. Only paid about $250CDN back then.

The stock one in the Max isn't as bad as what came on the Camaro, so that's why it would have to be priced at a point that I just couldn't refuse. For everything but power shifting, the stock one is fine.

I'm not trying to crap on your thread, but I'm not even sure how one could be made. Take a look at the in car linkages.

I would, am an very intersted. If there was a good short shifter made for the 6speed, I would buy it for sure. Hopefully it would be warranteed and made by a reputable company though. Like B&M or DC, etc...

Well in order to shorten the throw you have to move the pivot point of the shifter so that less throw up top is need to engage the gears. I'm not sure how you can do that with the present setup. You have to connect to those two linkages, so how do you shorten one without lengthening the other? It may not be obvious in the picture, but the one linkage is above the pivot point and the other comes of a lever attached to the bottom (below the pivot point).
