White Dot on Temperature Guage

White Dot on Temperature Guage
Anyone else notice this dot on the temperature guage? I know that my car has one, and apparently Atul's does too (I took this picture from his page..gotta give him his credit).
Does anyone know why it's there? I'm guessing that it is to tell you when your engine is up to normal operating temp, as the needle covers the dot when the engine is warmed up.

This was talked about a while ago, the dot's there to show where the temperature gauge should be at.
