Cell Phone Recption....

anyone got any antennas that can be put on the cars to enhance cell phone reception. living in nyc, i always hit dead spots on the BQE going into brooklyn. that and i'm gonna get nextel soon, and we all know how their reception is....not up to par (only getting it cause with direct connect, would be cheaper for me)

so, any info would help. thanx boys...

I'm in nyc also, i feel your pain. I don't have an answer for you, but i am curious to know as well. I just got nextel and so far so good. I don't understand how there are dead spots in the metro area..buildings? You would think there would be enough coverage in an area with a few million people.

you could get those ghastly looking stick on antennas - I don't know what to tell you, but to just drive around a few seconds more to a place that gives you better reception. I bought those stick on antenna stickers that you stick onto your cell's battery. It's supposed to act like a "10ft antenna" - BUT, it totally does NOT - so don't waste your $$ on it!~~~

Which Nextel phones are you guys getting?? I ordered an I90 last friday and the lady said it should be here today. I call her and now she says tomorrow at the latest wednesday.. A friend of mine has a box located in the front driver side of his car, in the top left corner by the visor, it has a cord that runs over the top carpeting to a antenna that is mounted to his back window... Not sure where to buy one at b/c his car came with it... But he says his cell reception is great...

cause the i95cl costs WAY too much, unless you can find me a deal.
i found a shop that'll give me the i90c for 130, 35 activaation, and the 54.99 plan w/free long distance. all that is pretty blah except the price for the i90c. at 130, that's pretty tight. you know anything better???/

130 seems pretty tight, but I'm sure you can do better. at least 100 - cmon~ With the new i95's coming out as well as the limited crystal i90c's - there shouldnt be a high demand for the i90s themselves. my company got them for 100 - but we got a fleet of them - but still - that was many months ago - prices had to have dropped...
