sell or no???

ok... so i recently crashed the maxima going fairly slow (sub 30's)
what happened is a person ran a stop sign trying to make a left turn from a side street. i was on a main street with the posted speed limit of 30mph and it was too late for me to swirve to the left because there was on comming traffic and i couldn't go to the right because theres no room there, so i slammed on the brakes and i'm guessing by the time of impact i was going at approximately 15mph. well my hood is bent, right fender smashed in, headlight fell off without cracking and my bumper is tworn.. i'm not sure if there's frame damage, but if there is should i sell the car??? from what i can see it shouldn't be too bad and my allignment is slightly off. the car is still drivable but i've noticed that my idle is slightly off. when i make left turns my right wheel rubs a lil in the bent fender.. i have already uploaded pix on geocities but for some odd reason they aren't coming out right so i wont' post links just yet.. neways can somoene please tell me what i should do???? tia.

I just smashed my car in June. I had the rightaway and some girl turned into traffic and I didn't even have time to brake. I hit her head on at 45mph, totaling her Honda Civic. My bumper was smashed and both fenders and the hood had to be replaced. When the claims adjuster looked at my car, he told me there was frame damage, I immediately wanted to sell the car. The body shop told me the frame was only bent an 1/8", and that they could straighten it out. When I finally got my car back, I had it aligned, and it feels the same, even though deep down I know that frame has been bent. I'm keeping the car for now, because I don't feel or see any problems yet.

I crashed my car @ 2000 miles (some stupid monster truck wannabe shift into my lane and bump me into central divider and he RAN AWAY!!!!)

well....I did a 180 and go into the wall from the right corner and the speed was about 45mph. the cost was 18k to fix the car, not enough to total it. The frames were bent, upper tight bars were wrecked, needs 2 fenders, windshield was cracked, new bumper, lights, an engine mount and the timing chain cover were broken. But my bodyshop were able to bring everything back.

so if u decided to fix it
-make sure the bodyshop has a frame machine and tell them to check all the frame spec (from engine bay to the trunk) since our car is has an unibody frame which means other frame might be affected if one is bent.
-make sure they use NEW nissan parts, and your body shops are able to fight with insurnace company for OEM parts (sometimes they want to use re-manufacture parts....)

but if u want to sell it
-make sure u dun file a police report or otherwise it will appear on the record that u have had an accident. But a experienced technician is able to tell by just looking at the frame of the car.

Ouch, but from the pics it doesn't look too bad. I would worry more about when they go to paint it that they do an excellent job. Just to look at it though I would seriously doubt the frame is bent. Besides if you go to trade it in many people won't look to hard under the car, they will look for obvious signs of being painted. I got railed when I traded in my Accord because the paint job that the body shop did was dirt poor. All I had was a simple scratch form a bike, your paint will be more extensive.

Good Luck

Hey Mingo, with todays tools, technology and knowledge it is possible to reconstruct a car and it will be almost impossible to notice something if the repair is well done, I wouldn't worry about it have it repair by a good shop and it will be allright.

Cheers
