My windshield cracked yesterday while I was warming my car up! From the bottom of the driver a-pillar to the bottom of the passenger a-pillar! The windshield was covered with about 3 inches of ice at the time....left the defroster on and...crack!

Will Nissan replace this? I doubt it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No Nissan won't, but your insurance might..

(in florida, I hear they have a law that states that all insurance carriers MUST replace cracked windshields at no expense to the owner.. found that interesting (somebody mentioned that on this board before))

Make sure that once you cover your comprehensive deductible, they put in a Genuine Nissan Windshield. (It runs about a Grand!!!, don't settle for some cheap "approved" imitation)

Genuine Nissan Windshield? Are you crazy?

I think my Max's windshield is quite possibly the most fragile and worst piece of glass I've ever had in a car. I only have 5200 mile on my car and the thing is pitted like I have 30,000 miles on it....and no I don't tailgate semi's at all. Lots of minute scratches in it also along with some stubborn residue mark that has been on there since day one.

Seems like every spec of dust or dirt will pit this thing...hell I can't wait until it does crack so I can get that Nissan POS piece of glass out of there

Sorry for the rant, nothing personal, I'm just really ticked at the quality of this.....

Actually, my windshield took a pretty bad hit, and it's still in one piece (it didn't crack).. So I can't say anything bad about the Nissan Windshield yet..!!

I was driving down the highway @ a cool 75mph, when all of sudden, out of nowhere (there were a few trucks a few hundred feet up ahead [yes, they too drive @ like 75mph in NJ!!],) BANG!!! I of course could not see what hit, or where it hit, but I assumed it hit the windshield, so I slowed down to like 45mph and immediately began looking for cracks..

Didn't find any until I got home, and pulled up to garage, and there was a rather sizeable nick in the lower corner, passenger side. There was a tiny scratch/dent on one of the windshield blades too, and that leads me to believe that whatever it was, hit the blade, and then bounced off the windhsield.. I'm convinced that if it had missed the windshield wiper, or hit anywhere closer to the middle, it would've definitely taken the windshield out..

My ears were ringing for the next few days!! It was a loud bang...!!!
