Throttle back cable tension

Throttle back cable tension
My throttle deceleration cable (the one closest to the cabin) keeps getting loose. So the other day I tightened it to about the same tension as the acceleration cable (the one closer to the engine). Now when I accelerate past 3000 rpm, then let off the accelerator, the engine will stay at 3000 rpm, until I lift up on the accelerator with my foot, then it goes back down to 1000 rpm at idle.
This isn't a question, just information for anyone experiencing rough deceleration. It might be your throttle deceleration cable that's loose.

the one closest to the cabin is the accel cable. if you follow the other cable it leads through the fire wall and is the cruise control. i would not mess with that one but i did loosen up the nut around the accel cable and tighten it up a little bit.

The problem I was having was with deceleration, and the accelerator cable was loose, so I tightened it up (maybe too tight?). The day after I tightened it, when I accelerated past 3000 rpm, the engine rpms would stay high until I forced the accelerator pedal up with my foot. But the day after, my car accelerated and decelerated normally, so I'm guessing the cable is at the correct tension (maybe it's loosened again).

if you can look at it in terms of thirds, mine only has a third to the end of the cable. two thirds of the threads are above the position where mine is. i dont have a problem with idling, deceleration or any of the kind. it was an improvement from where nissan had it, much better response now.
