my friend has been talkin crap and calling me out to race him. he has a 95 four door integra with a LS/vtech engine. will he blow me away or is it a even match? i would have raced him already but his car is in the shop. the only reason why he wants to race me so bad is because i've takin out all of the so-called fast hondas around here. i guess he wants to take out the top dog :P 0o yea i have a stock 2000 max se with a A4 greddy muffler. so what do u think???

As much as i am ashamed to say this, I think the GS-R will win. However, it all comes down to the driver and sounds like he's all talk. Lemme know how it goes!

the LS/VTEC is a combo to be reckoned with. in a car as lightweight as a crx, you probably wouldnt stand a chance. luckily for you he's got the extra weight of the 4 door teg to haul. i think it will be a good race with the integ with the edge on you.

the ls and the gs-r share the same blacok. the heads are a little different. a friend of mine has a type r engine in his civic. i smashed him. wait, i was in my lotus then. but the engine only puts 180 to the ground. and the tourqe is so damn low. you can take him. v-tech does'nt even kick in until 5600 rpm's.

yes i am a boxing fan, but that is not where i got the name. i got it from ronnie garvin. and the fact i used to get into fights with guys bigger than myself. and come out not bleeding. roberto Duran was a great boxer though.

beat a GSR...

I smoked a GSR last weekend in my 2K3 6-speed and I am a new manual driver...From a stop I beat him by about 5 or 6 car lengths to about 80mph.

He must have been the world's worst driver. Did he stall?

No he did not stall. Plus, he knew the race was on because his tires squealed big time.

maybe I am a crackhead, but stock to stock, the only 5th gen max a gsr would have a chance with, would be a pre 2k2 auto. I have spent some time behind the wheel of a gsr, and I don't see it happening. Don't get me wrong, those little sh*&'s are fast, but.....

I agree. I have spent some time with a GSR as well, and while they are quick...the best it can do from 0-60 is 7.1 on a good day.

if you are 5 spd and he doesnt have a VTEC controller, you should slightly pull on him.

the thing about an ls vtec is that the ls block has good low end torque and the gsr head has good high end. That is what i heard. But the bottom line is the driver. Smoke his ***. good luck

low torque doesnt matter, if u have very short gears, like for instance the TypeR or Civic Si, same transmission, which is geared very tightly, if u have tight gearing all u need is higher redline to offset going through the gear too quickly. And LS/VTEC are known to put out some good numbers, i think a LS/VTEC hybrid puts out more power than a standard GSR motor.

Whoooaaaaa!!!! There is no way he is putting down 250hp... if he is you better just go sit on the couch because he will not only beat you, but your kids will still feel the pain next week!

If he says he is getting 250HP at the crank he is still full of it. The Type R which is fully tuned from the factory is only pulling 200HP. It takes a he11 of a lot of motor work to pick up another 50hp. He must have those special "go-fast" lights on his car.

You should take him no prob if he just has the standard motor and head-work. If he has a Vtec head then he needs a Vtec ECU w/ rewiring and the works. Chances of it running right are slim. But if it is right then he may have some head work too. If that is the case then he MIGHT (Might) have 190hp at the crank.

I think he is just talking stupid trash and making up numbers from his superstreet book.

ASU - If you think a new Max cant take a simple GSR then you havent ridden in a 6spd VQ3.5 lately. They are not slow by any means.

If he has an LS Vtec Manual tranny then he will take you. Does he have any mods? If he does things are not looking good for you!

That all depends upon whether it all depends upon what it depends upon if it depends upon how it depends upon who it depends upon and why it depends upon what it does depend upon. So, to answer your question...maybe.

i will

like i said im waitin for his car to get out of the shop. he has the basic intake, exhaust, and decals. he also has skunk 2 ecu or something. i know his engine in a light wieght honda would kill me but the fact that he has a 4 door integra, it might be even. how much do they weigh ne ways? and were both 5 speed.

if both are 5 spd then the race should be very tight, all stakes are on driver
