Warranties and Modding

Ok, I have my Maxima on a 4-year lease. What can't I do to my car? I need to keep it within the warranty so what mods aren't allowed? Thanks!

think you will have to ask the dealer w/ each mod you want. that's the safest bet. even something as benign as tint isn't allowed on some leases.

ill answer that 1 for u. i called the dealer(s) here which is ABC nissan, Pinaccle nissan, and Midway. the warranties that are void are only the parts the u replace. so u can get a y-pipe, hi-flow cat, and bolt on cat-back, also any intake other the the place racing CAI. now the reason i say that is obviously because even if restored back to stock that 3" hole in the wheel well is gonna make the dealer suspicous. now other then that all these parts can be thrown into the car and removed back to stock trim w/o the dealer knowing it was ever there. the y-pipe would be kind of a pain to add on and take off especially if doin it urself. i have to take my car in for the reat struts and im thinkin of returning it back to stock but thats gonna take 4ever and im too lazy, nor do i have the time. i work at and autoshop so i have all the tools i need just too dman busy. home that kinda clears a few things up, just remember never trust the damn dealers.

If you mod anything at all, keep it to yourself and/or hide it well and play stupid if you go to the dealer.

Just keep all the old parts, and in four years, put 'em back on. Should be no warranty issues with conservative mods, but you'll want it to be original when you turn it back in. If you're planning to buy it after the lease, then do whatever you want.
