Cleaning the engine with intake???

How do you guys clean your engine if you have an aftermarket intake?? do you cover just the intake with some type of plastic. like a plastic bag?

yeah, i cover the intake and alternator with a plastic bag. ive seen gunk kill an alternator first hand. while the bag is on there, i never direct water towards the intake and do my best to keep the stream a fair ways away. one time with my old altima i washed it down and two of the spark plug wires were ripped, it went right down and i was ran on two cylinders all the way home and had to let it dry out. not that our car has one but cover the distributor if youve got one.

ALWAYS remember to take the bag back off before you start the car. Sounds stupid, but myself and two of my friends have done it. The car dies, the SES light comes on, and the best part - you CRUSH the filter.
