Sun Visor has cracks in it..

I have a 2002 maxima and I just noticed today that the sun visor has about 6 or 7 crackes in it.. They are about 2 inch long.. I think
this was caused by the heat and sun, but its still bull,
I hope the dealer is going to repalce this because i'm ****ed, they charged me enough for the sun visor they better replace it under warrenty

Has anyone else have this problem..

Thanks
Domenic

I hate being the guy telling you this...but try searching in the upper right hand corner of the screen. yes, everyone has this problem and the dealer should replace it under the 36k miles/3 year warranty. They are currently under national back order but they will be available shorty. contact your dealer and have the put you on the waiting list.

Yes mad people have the same problem. They will fix under warranty. However, Nissan is looking for a new manufacturer of that visor, last I heard. So you might have to wait.

Almost everybody has had this problem. The sunroof deflector is still on national backorder...I'm still waiting on mine. You should go by your dealer and have them order you one. It is covered under warranty.

Re: Sun Visor has cracks in it..

domenic_16, have the dealer remove it, wax the area that hasn't been cleaned since they put that on and leave it off. I searched high and low for my 2K2 and I insisted that I wanted one without that wind deflector. I finally found the sterling mist I wanted and it did not have the factory wind deflector. I have always felt that it detracts from the good looks of the car and that it doesn't really help that much with wind noise. I drove a Maxima with one at 65MHP and one without at 65MPH (sunroof open) and I really could tell that much of a difference. Do as you want, but even a replacement one may up ending doing the same thing (i.e. cracking again).
You can remove it yourself (I've been told)...just remove the two screws holding in the support and lift it off...then remove the supports-supposedly you must have the sunroof open to accomplish that second step.
Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

Im one with the same problem of course. I ordered a new a few months back and I called the other day and the dealer told me its still on this "national back order" thing and they have no clue as to when they will come in.

Does anyone on the .org have any info as to when we can expect to seee these things????

domenic, like I said...pull the darn thing off and you'll never have to worry about it again...it serves a useless purpose.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Sun Visor has cracks in it..

I'm thinking about it.. It's funny you say this becuase when I bought the car I told them I did want the visor and told them to take it off (It was already on the car) but of course they forgot, so of lived with it. but now everyday I look at it there is a new crack, soon the whole thing is just going to break off.

I think i'm going to take it for very soon.

Thanks,
Domenic
