got rear ended

so today was partly sunny warm day so i decide to wash and wax my car. after about 3hrs of doing that (approx 1pm-4pm) i decide to take it out for a spin. Sort of like showing off my new trophy, well i pull out onto the mainstreet and im driving. Red light, slowing down and then CRASH. This ricey honda accord rear ends me. Sends my car forward about 10 ft. I pull over and so does he. I look at my rear and i am ready to explode. The guy had expired registration and was just a total idiot. He was acting like he hadnt done anything saying that my car had those huge dents in the back. Well i call the cops, and they settle things, i got a written statement that he would take full responsibilty for the accident. So i guess im getting a new bumper, sort of bitter sweet. My baby was perfect this morning and now it looks like i beat the crap out of it with a sledge hammer. Ill post pics when i get time,...didnt have the heart to do it today.
i would appreciate any advice on body shop experiences and what places have good reps in NY.

I can truly relate to your pain, man. I have had my bumper cover tagged twice.

Does it sort of look like this now?

To fix this cost me about $350 at the dealer, but I had estimates as low as $220 from independent shops.

(Yes, there are two sunlit sand 2k2 maxima's in that picture...)

I say, since it's the other guy's fault, take it to the dealer. They'll use all nissan parts, plus, not trying to sound like a *ick, but money is no object to you, but it is for the other guy. Good luck, too bad about the max though

Where in NY are you located? anywhere on Long Island?
