RSB question...

I just installed my addco RSB, thanks for all the instruction!!
one question:

The bushings on the rear bar were not evenly placed, I want to avoid the clunking problem that all the other folks has mentioned...

Is there any bad effect?

Thanks!!

If they're not equal, why not just space them out evenly then?

Sorry I didn't make it clear, I thought everyone should have this problem... after I move inward the passenger side bushing to avoid the clunking, the driver side has a welding junction that I can't push the driver side bushing in. Unless I jump over the welding part but it's too close to each other.

Thanks!!

A weld? I don't recall seeing any type of weld on the bar nor on the rear beam.

Do this, measure roughly 4-1/2" from each end of the bar parallel to the rear beam and place the bushing's there.

We have the same exact car so it will work for you. This photo should give you an idea as to what i'm talking about. (E.g. Of course, this is a pre-install photo, but the bushings on both side should be of equal length from where the bar starts to curve.)

Thanks! soundmike. Your RSB looks very cool!
If I put the bushings 4-1/2" from the bend, then it won't meet the welding part on the beam. But seems that it's not far enough to avoid the clunk...

Installed mine the same spacing of the bushings as soundmike's picture shows. NO clunking noises at all; hard curves, speed bumps, etc.-NONE.

Here's what I did:

Cut the corners off of inner-rear(trunk of car facing)-passenger side, bushing mounts on the sway. Hope that makes sense.

i spaced my bushings out evenly and shave a little bit of the brackets off to avoid that clunking noise.

Thanks for the info soundmike! I think cattman sent me the wrong kit. did the one they sent you say RSB-G5 on the invoice? I only have 2 U-bolts. The instruction page says 5th gen should have 4 U-bolts. Any idea?

Nope, two U-bolts and 2 square type bolts. Looks like half a square. Does anyone know where you get the most from the bar? If the bushings are further in or further out? Mine are almost as far as can be....like an inch on either side.

RSB-G5 is correct one. There should be 2 U-bolts and 2 square bracket shape bolts.

Thanks dude! Just checked the pic on http://www.custommaxima.com/AddcoRearSwayBar.htm
which shows enlarged pic of the whole kit- with 2 U and 2 sqare U.
I'll put the kit on this weekend.
