HID Head Lamps Protection ?

I too am worried about my HID lamps getting stolen. I have an idea that some of you might think about and come up with an product that may work. I have 1-800 numbers with seral numbers etched on my "glass" around my Maxima. What if we who have HID's got a product that would etch our VIN number on the "plastic" lenz of our head lamps. If some punk was pulled over having the wrong vin number that didn't match his registration number of his car...... seems like posession of stole property would be a deturent to wanting to sell or buy Maxima HID head lamps with non-matching VIN numbers etched into the front of them. This could be one more thing in addition to the bolts and shock sensors that have been mentioned thus far......

problem is, they are mostly dumping the housing and selling the bulb and ballast which is worth about $400.
