Well I just got word today that Nissan has authorized an RMA for my crappy tranny that I have had pretty much continous problems with since I got the car. After having the solenoids (twice) and the TCM changed over the last 2 years I finally got Nissan to admit that I got a bad tranny.
I have had serious 1-2 and 2-3 slippage since the car was about 3 months old. Both times the Solenoids were replaced it would become much less noticeable for about a month then, would be as bad as before....Then another fun fight with and countless trips to the service dept I would get them to work on it again.
This time though there was a new problem that I haven't heard anyone else having on here. Which was that from a dead stop I would press the gas and the car wouldn't move for about 600-700rpms above idle then around 1500rpms the car would slam into gear ... this was sorta like when I put a High stall TC and a "racing" shift kit in my old Camaro but not as predictable as the Max would only do it about half the time.
Well anyway, I will hopefully get my car back sometime next week. Because the only LSD tranny in the US is in Jacksonville Florida

I had the same problem as you. Car felt like it was in Neutral in Overdrive coming from a stop. If you pushed the RPM up to 1500 the trans would slam into gear. Oddly enough, Drive and 1 would function normally at a stop, however they would shake into 1st gear. All these problems did not happen to my Maxima but rather to my girlfriends 93 Sable when we got a reman trans put in recently. The trans guy said he felt as though the trans may have been dropped. My mechanic said the 'reeds' were crushed in the trans (whatever those are).
