What the fluck. No reverse and it is starting off in 3rd gear. I have the VB mod. What the hell else do I need to do?

 

so u have a SC and it busted your auto tranny? have u checked the tranny fluid condition? and what kinda vb mod you have? I would take the vb off and clean it real good with brake cleaner. then reinstall it and see if it works. check the tranny pan see if there is any excessive wear.

just wondering what pulley r u running and do you go hard on the tranny?

 

VB mod don't cut it. There's a shop in Maryland(NRH transmissions) and New Jersey(level 10) that will bulletproof your tranny.

 

sorry alex for asking u so many questions....

did u notice any sign of slippage of tranny before it failed?

who isntalled the vb? did that person clean the vb well before the install?

do u have any temp gauge to monitor the ATF temperature?

 

That's one thing I would like, a temp gauge.

I'm thinking about putting a SC on mines too. I got Jeff's VB mod last week. Did you get the SC after the VB mod? How's the tranny holding up. btw, I'm auto too..

Where this guy at to give us a bit more info? Like how much boost was you running, what happened? Just flat out went on a certain day? Were you racing it?

D_man and kev have had the SCed auto max for the longest time...I think 20k of milage on it and both transmissions are holding up pretty good. Is this because the vb was modded by Don? or is it possible that they just had stronger tranny in their Max. hmmmmm.....



And Mingo : I think psing23's tranny went byebye and I think another member here got his replaced 3 times. Both of them are NA. Is your tranny dying? I thought u have the VB mod......

 

I had the SC way before the VB mod was done! How long will it survive? Honestly, nothing absolutely horrible yet, but I know it's struggling...

 

i'm not a believer of the saying that the vb makes the tranny last longer.

 

The magnets from my tranny weren't all that dirty either. I was REALLY surprised since they looked as clean as when the VB was first put in. [maxi-overdose] is my witness.

I was there when Kev took out his vb.....his tranny pan was cleaner than mine and he has more miles on the tranny than I do. plus! he's auto was supercharged while mine is purely NA.


man.....u in a hurry to sell that tranny? guess I have to dump some stocks for it. I really want a backup.....just in case.

 

Yeah it was pretty crappy! It downshifts much easier now too, I'm pretty surprised!

FYI : I've begun upshifting manually for regular driving - I think it's easiest on the tranny not to mention the rest of the car... I'm at about 7k now in approximately 3 months (yep, I drive a lot).
