Have We Figured This MAF Thing Out?

Have we figured out if it's over oiling the filter, or too much vibration? If it's over oiling, wouldn't the Apexi take care of that? (No oil)?

Now that we know the actual sensor is only about $70, it's not as big of a deal, but I'm still curious. I am seriously considering the INJEN w/ Apexi.

No, it has not been figured out because there are stock cars out there that are blowing their MAF's. It's a design flaw...and I hate to even reply to this post because it's going to stir the crap again.

Here's what I gathered in summary:

The MAF sucks...it could go at any time. However, there seems to be more frank/berk cars that blow vs. injen or stock. However, the injen has not been out as long.

I went with the injen...so far so good. (250 miles so I can't really talk!)

The best post I have seen is the person tracking down the serial code on the MAF itself. Seems that the 2003 and the replacements have a different # on them, which means that Nissan knows they messed it up....conspiracy? You bet ya! Especially when Nissan sticks you with the bill! I'd ask them why they're not putting the same part back on the car OR even the same part on the NEW 2003 maxima's...if this is in fact the case.
