Stereo Swap Out Question
#1
Has anyone replaced the "premium" deck that comes in the SE model? After Christmas I'm gonna pick up the Aiwa CDC-mp3. I've seen them on ebay for like 230ish and I love the idea of playing MP3s straight from my car stereo.
Anyway, any pics of the removal of the stock stero or service manual images would be highly appreciated.

I don't have any pics, but its easy to remove
POP THE AC VENTS UP TOP
2 SCREWS BEHIND THE VENTS HOLDING TOP PART OF DASH
TAKE ASHTRAY OUT, SMALL SCREW BEHIND THE DUMMY TRAY IN ASHTRAY
POP THE TRIM AROUND THE SHIFTER
2 SCREWS UNDERSIDE HOLDING THE BOTTOM OF DASH.
Take THE TOP 2 AND BOTTOM 2 OUT AND PULL THE CENTER CONSOLE RIGHT OUT.
Don't scratch anything, the metal is really sharp on the dash so take it easy and don't cut yourself.

I did a swap too.. if you are going to a single DIN unit you can order a kit from http://www.crutchfield.com. They have one that fits pretty good. As for removal it is just as easy as PIONEER says. Just be careful when you pull the deck out it has brackets that are really sharp that can cut you and your car!

Does anyone know someone, or has a friend that has installed a mobile video receiver unit? Like one with the fold out lcd screen? Or maybe even put a lcd display in the dash when they took out the factory receiver? I know that the fold out displays I have been looking at are a single din unit, so there would be a lot of space left in the dash...Sorry I don't know much..but any help is appreciated. Thanks.

yea the decks that have lcd monitors are single din, with the 2k max's which are dual din you will need a dual din cover that allows you to punch out a single din space if you look at my old max you will see what i am talking about i had single din at first then changed to dual din to use both spaces for deck then single din dvd player
