Check out what those modded M45 look like. Very sweet again with a tint, drop, rims, and kit. Stock not so hot.

They look like freaking boats. Still nice cars, but in that price range I would get GS430, which looks so much better. Or even 540, which is close in that price range.

My old 540 did the quarter in 14.09 at 102mph
with the Dinan ECU mod (+12 hp) and 3.15 differential....no M45 would come close to touching that.
Bimmer all the way for that price.
Better yet, wait until the '04 540s are out..rumored to have circa 325 hp (up from 290 today) and weigh 300 pounds less than the current E39.
Betcha they will be 13 second cars....

The Q has a very nice interior, but it drives like crap. Its transmission is horrible(upshifts early and long times to downshift) and the manual mode is useless. To me the M45 especially from the side is very similiar in appearance to the previous Q45 (95-00). Is that a good thing no, its just keeping up with the trend companies are putting alot of power in butt ugly designs.

If any Japanese car company can make testosterone-oozing cars it's Nissan ie the Skyline, Cedric/Gloria/M45. Many people don't know what that chassis is capable of but in Japan the Cedric/Gloria (car the M45 is based on) is highly regarded as a capable tourer. It's meant to go head-to-head with another well-balanced 4-door, the Toyota Chasers (in Japan, it's more popular with tourers and drifters than even the Supra).
So basically, the M45 will be a good-handling car with a stiffer chassis than the new Q (which is pretty stiff) with one of the best V8's in the business basically a Chevy Impala SS with velvet refinement. It's design may not appeal to everyone, but it's a real man's car and comes from the school of Chevy Impala SS, Marauder, 1st gen Q45, dodge charger school of design. It's no wonder why the Nissan President and Gloria are favored by Yakuza, they look mean and tough. Girly men!
