.org Unreal Tournament Match

I'm reposting this in 5th Gen forums because of sympathetic moderators.

I set up a private UT 2003 Demo server so we can have a nice frag fest online. Another way to get to know your fellow .org members

To join in...

1. Download the demo at www.unrealtournament2003.com. (~100 mb)
2. Make sure to set your name in the settings to you .org screen name.
3. Click the link below, password is: a32b

Click here to join the game after install in UT2k3

i don't play Unreal...never really liked it....BUT start up a Quake 3 server and I am def in!

I am a recovering Unreal Tournament Addict. LOL.

Honestly, I had to throw the damn game away because I used to play it so much.

This is just the kind of temptation I need to avoid!

I'm doing Unreal because it's free

And its very similar to QA3 and will run just about as fast.

Heh... I was addicted too when it first came out. Work and college keep me from being addicted to much now.

Give it a shot

I was never a big fan of Q3... and I don't own the game.

This no one has to own. All you really need is a decent processor and vid card to run it. Broadband would probably help, but its not at all required, you only need ~33k of bandwidth to run it decently.

Not really... I haven't had issues with it on the client side... the server leaves much to be desired however.

Whatever yall want to play... right now the server is running Bombing Run, which is kinda like Capture the Flag, but i can change it while we play depending on what yall want to do.

Theres a link to it in my sig. I'll make it clearer.

Alternatively, you can use the server browser to find Maxima.org and add it to your server favorites.

btw, 3dgamers.com usually has a quick download link.

For you Q3A-ers, most everything still applies.. however all the weapons have an alternate fire mode. be sure to bind and use it because some of the best features are with the alt-fire key on each weapon.

I'll be on in another hour or so. See you targets then

We sure will, I'm trying to get the script to cycle through every map automatically, but the server side software is from the stone age.

The average CPU usage for the night was <1% so I have no qualms about leaving the server up during off business hours... I'll probably write a script to take it down 8-5 M-F though.

See you guys next time.

(I don't do the other games you guys suggest because this one is free and available to us all and easy to play

and i'm to lazy to learn another server package )

I got in by searching throught the in game browser..it was a blast, but my vid card was choppy and I kept getting kicked off...do you know why this is?

Lots of variables could be causing your problem. Change video settings to lower resolution, lower detail, make sure all drivers are up-to-date, especially video and DirectX drivers. Close all other programs running (especially tasktray and TSR programs).

What kind of system are you playing on, what OS, what videocard, does it meet minimum requirements for the game?
