Was probably an auto 2k with clear tails and a grandma driver.

 

It's kinda funny even those folks in their forum don't believe him...

 

proabably didn't even manual shift the crappy auto gear box(2k/2k1..GOD i hate it)

 

thats funny ****. i wanna race an eclipse. i see this kid with the old body style eclips. he has the 4cylinder turbo with a blow off valve. i just wanna race him and blow him away next time i see him.

 

I ran with an eclipse with all sorts of add on crap (even the black hood...it might have been carbon, but I doubt it)
All I can say is that I hope it wasn't a turbo cause I ripped it apart.
He did give me the 100mph fly by after I was about 2 miles ahead of him...awful nice of the guy.

yeah, you can pretty much tell he was BS'ing. maybe he was tryin to just get some attention who knows, alot of thier members say they get walked easily.. thats FUNNY

 

I used to have a GSX (AWD/turbo) and it wouldn't come close to my 6-speed.... not even close. The new GT has 6-cyl engine, but only about 10 more HP than the GSX. There is no way it would keep up.

DrVolkyl, it probably was a turbo. They're not *that* fast. It was smooth of him to give you the flyby, though.

 

The new eclipse is trash. how could mitsubishi do that?
Motor week tested it and the rover mini. the mini had better times.
I think the MAX driver must have dropped his keys out of the ignition.

this guy doesnt know the difference between a 2000 and a 2002, they just realize its the same body.. no offense to the people on that board that seemed pretty cool, but i think eclipses are girly cars.. whenever i drive by one i check to see if its a hot girl driving it, and for some reason like 90% of the times it is

not to mention mitsubishi isnt exactly the best company when it comes to mechanical issues, i heard their trannys are the worst

I think that even a 2K1 or 2K0 auto would have smoked him....

If he took out an auto 4th gen, yes I would believe it. Not a 5th gen, nevermind the 255 hp '02 Maxima. Even with auto should eat him up easily.

these guys think if you have red tails its a 2000, blk tails its a 2001 and chrome a 2002/3.what, they don't think we swap em'???
when i get my 2k3 max i'm gonna put my 01 gxe red tails and gxe rims on it and really screw with people. that would be a total sleeper max. the only thing that would give it away is the hids.

That just made me smile. The Max gets respect even with enthusists of other styles of cars.
But most of those guys seemes like they had there heads on their shoulders like around here...

 

i have 2000 SE tails on mine i love when people come from behind and never get to see the front of the car.. they probably think im a 2000 automatic

 

Yeap Agreed, he wasnt racing, But we need people on this site to try and bull**** people that own the same damn car that they beat a 255hp car with a 6spd with their 200hp 5spd which weights the same ****ing weight as the other car Jesus where do these dumbasses get these stories
