i saw an undercover in a 2003 grey luster maxima the other day int he DC metropolitan area i just think its pretty cool i only thought they use domestic cars

 

How'd you know he was undercover? I guess if their PD has a nice budget, its not a problem getting a max.

wow if an average guy like you knew he was undercover...then the "bad guys" would have no trouble knowing. Looks like they spend all their money on cars instead of training.

I've seen many detectives and crash unit cops in domestic vehicles. You'll be surprised what they come out of sometimes.

 

Come on guys, as nice as the Maxima's are, they aren't that much more than a Crown Vic. I think it's within their budget to get one, it is pretty slick that they are using them, It's one big game of cat and mouse. The Florida Highway Patrol has marked Camaro Z-28's with 300+HP motors in them and recently, I've seen them cruising around in unmarked Ford Expeditions.

Cash strapped NYPD has undercover cars like you wouldnt beleive. TRUST ME... if you happen to be anywhere near a major drug bust, that taxi cab that just let off passengers - all cops. And the beat up Sentra... cops.

My brother's high up in the DC Police force. It wasn't a DC cop. They only buy domestic.

 

He said DC Metro area. That could mean DC, MD, VA.

I will bet he was off duty or it was his vehicle rigged with lights. He could have been Federal too. I have seen lots of federal officers that have their POVs hooked up for emergency traffic.

 

Those camaros are quick, I was following some guy on a motorcycle at 110, He punched it and left me behind. That is when my radar detector went off. I didnt even have time to slow down, I just moved to the right and he shot past me at probably 150. He was standing still behind a bush on the roadside. The motorcycle guy was not a happy camper in the handcuffs.

 

I believe it, but ya have to admit, the cash-strapping doesn't go towards the NYPD salaries. I know a few disgruntled guys.

It was prob. just rigged up. My uncle is a Los Angeles County Sheriff, and he has two cars rigged with lights, a Chevy Tahoe and a Volvo S80. The Volvo looks hilarious driving with the lights goin.

 

Here in louisville there has been cops in Corvettes and I saw one pull over a speeder (thank goodness it wasnt me) that was a black Ford F-150 with tinted windows and a tool box. LOL

 

My dad got pulled over by a Porsche in Texas! About 4-5 years ago

 

my favorite setup is the impala ss driven by that famous sheriff in arizona or someplace that had the show on courttv or something.. I can't remember his name, but he boasts one of the safest counties in america or something because of his strict enforcement
