2002 Grey Lustre...wheel/brake color opinions....

gonna paint my calipers sometime soon. not sure what color to paint it. i figured black would just make them look shiny and not stand out. red would look pretty tough, but i dunno on a grey lustre.

also rims....what do you think, Silver, GunMetal, or Chromies.

right now, i'm pushin red on the calipers and gunmetal or chrome on the wheels.

opinions/comments guys?

I would go black calipers.

As for wheels...ANYTHING but gunmetal!!! I am one of a few members who think gunmetal wheels always look dirty from brake dust, etc. and just plain diminish the look of a Max. So too, overdone chrome, but some chrone wheels out there do look really good without looking ghetto.

I did my calipers red on my 2k2 grey lustre... Looks really nice, a little sprortier too. Nice and subtle, but to the point... I dont have any pics to show you though... Wheels, IMO i think chromies look the best on dark colored cars, but thats my opinion.

Contrary to some peoples opinion I really like a gunmetal (dark grey) grey wheel with a chrome or polished lip that is about 1 1/2" wide on a Grey Lustre car. That's what I'd get.

Body color calipers and even though you may have ruled out Silver wheels... chrome or silver wheels No gun metal. I seen the Grey luster with gunmetal and it just doesn't look good now if the car was black or sterling mist it would...

I have the same color Max and I've been looking at the Velux VX-8 silver lip with gunmetal 18x7.5 on a grey lustre 2k2. Also want to paint calipers. It would be a good weekend job. With this combo I thought that I would paint the calipers silver. I've been waiting for a deal for the wheels and tires through wheelmax. The rims are not in yet and the rep said that in 1-2 weeks the 5lug would be in and also free shipping will be included. Let me know what you think. I think chrome on this car would have to be done right in order for the car to look good. For me chrome is too expensive for the look I want.

With all due respect to those of you who say no, I have a 2K Grey Lustre with grey rims. They're not quite gun metal and not quite black chrome (for anyone who saw the Acura RSX on the show tour last year). I went with Enkei RPM2s (a few on here have those rims) and frankly, I think they look absolutely sick (in a good way).

But, like all this stuff, do what you want and let the nay sayers do their thing. They will regardless. And, they're allowed to be wrong.
