I just had a spirited run with an undercover cop!!!!

woo hoo!!! and I didn't get a ticket (big sigh of relief at that part!!)

I was just at a friend's house fixing thier computer (downloaded a whole buncha crap onto it and there were like 25 programs in the startup folder ...yuck)

I exit the turnpike onto my favorite back road where the maximum limit is high and proceed to give her some gas

I reached the first light and in front of me is a slow *** tercel, to the left is a SS Monte Carlo (the new one with the round lights)
and behind him is an altima

light changes and of course the tercel goes negative 1 mile an hour and the stupid altima paces that fool so that I can't get around.
the SS of course was GONE!!!

I eased up on the tercel and whipped around that lil' twit and caught up to the SS

I immediatly passed him

and then we just paced each other all the way to 4 blocks before my house

I get to the red light and turn...

uh uh...the SS turns to (but at that time I had no idea it was a cop....so I'm getting a lil scared)

go to the next turn and slow....the SS slows too

so I WHIPPED IT (thank gosh for RSB's and FSTB's)

and the SS whipped it to

and then I saw the blue and red flashing lights.......the funny part was I was SOOOO relieved that it was a cop!!! I'd rather have gotten a ticket than have some a-hole follow me home!!!

so he walks up to the car and I'm like "Oh my Gawd...thank goodness ..you're a cop!" "I was scared for a minute there"

he said "you had me scared for a minute when you took that turn so fast!"

I gave him the license and registration...he told me to slow down....

and get this......

he THANKED me for the spirited run we had!!! he didn't know maxima's could do all that (he was surprised that a chick was drivin' like that )

no ticket....cute *** cop...spirited run...I'm all tingly inside!!!

goodnight all!!

edit...it wasn't a SS it was an Impala..my bad..I saw him today again on my way home and he gave me a thumbs up!!

I have this hott hott girl in my school, her daddy got her a new ML320....she always always parks in the tow away zone(where EVERYONE in the school can see her new mercedez SUV)

i wonder how the cops don't give her a ticket or tow away her car

maybe she promised something for them at the end of the day

I don't think it had anything to do with being a woman!!

I mean get real...I was in my workout clothes with a scarf around my hair and all sweaty...definatly not haute couture

I think he just gave me the benefit of the doubt because it was late at night and dark and the entire event gave me enough reason to be frightened

now if it had happened in the daytime I would have a fat a$$ ticket and deserve it!!

I'm glad that he gave me the benefit of the doubt..cause usually I would have gotten a ticket

being a woman does not stop me from getting a ticket

but dont' take it the wrong way....if I think cleavage will help me out...I'll use these bad boys to my advantage

don't hate....buy your own

Haute couture? Prett big language for a message board.

And it probably helped that weren't dressed like a bimbo. Because if you were dressed up at night and driving like that, he might wonder if you were a little loaded after coming home from the bar.

I do think being a woman can help. IF your cop is a man. But, if that's true, we only have ourselves to blame, fellas. We can be dumb like that.

I think the key word here is "spirited".

A warm evening, two modded cars, a comfortable back road, a hint of the unknown, a sigh of relief, and acknowledgment of two parties.

ms.thicknes... u might have made a friend last night.

Reminds me of my story.

Last year, was working really late (11:00 pm) and decided to step out for a bit and get some snack and what not from a nearby convenience store.

Coming back, I turned into our industrial park area and hit the gas in the first two gears. Wasn't going that fast but the speed limit is only 40 km/h to begin with, so I was probably going close to double the speed limit.

I decided to go past work, head to the dead-end at the end of the road, turn around and come back. I get to the dead-end, turn around, and all of a sudden this dark Impala pull up right in front of me and blocks my way.

I start to panic a little bit until he flips on his lights. I shut the car off, he comes over and gets my info, asks me some questions about what I'm doing here and what-not.

Goes back to the car and presumably runs my info. Comes back, hands me back my ownership and license and says: "Have a good night. Just take it easy rowing the gears" and then leaves.

Yes sir yes sir three bags full...

great run..........

nothing like whipping the max around a fast corner w/ftsb and rsb on.........kinda reminds me of this older camero(undercover chp?) i ran with on the freeway....paced each other, then droppped to third punched it...walked away easily and after a few of these runs, he got beside me and flashed a badge, w/some blue marking of some sort with a flashlight..couln't see that well since it was in the evening, i acknowledged with a nod and a wave....don't know if it's real or not, but i resumed normal speed and thought about that all the way home. funny thing was one of headlight just went out that evening!! oh well, just happy he didn't pull me over or get the phone to get his buddy chp/cops after me....what a relief!!!!!

=] nice stories, cant say ive been in the same situation

I dont know about laws in other states, but here in cali, I cop has to be visible to the public to write you up. if parked, parking lights HAVE to be on, or you can contest it in court.

Just my 2 cents worth =]

I don't know where you got this information, but I can tell you from personal experience and about $3700 in fines this is not true. I have only been here since 1996 so I don't know about the law prior to then, but at least half of my citations were from police and/or CHP who were not visible to anyone. I always go to court to fight it so I have seen my fair share of traffic(kangaroo) court proceedings. The last time I recieved a citation from a hidden CHP was on 280 coming back from RSA 2002. I've since discovered the hiding spot he used on 280, but during the court proceedings he plainly stated observing me from his "vantage point". There is no way to see this cop until after you pass this little terrace off of 280 hidden by a turn in the road. Granted that fat cow in San Mateo who approximates what can only be loosely described as a "judge" was more pendantic and petty than usual, she played all the same games all the kangaroo courts were setup to do. Make no bones about it, the california traffic court was made to seperate you and your money.

OH!! Makes sense now.
Last year, something similar happened to me. I was doing between 65-70 on a 55mph interstate road. Very light traffic & I am in the fast lane. I have a dark grey Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with dark tinted windows almost fly by me in the middle lane. I figured I am too slow to be in the fast lane & move over to the middle lane. Now he moves into the fast lane & starts slowing down, waiting for me to catch up.
As soon as I get close he would gunn it, asking for a race.
I downshift into 3rd and off we go upto 100mph. I easily beat him only to see red & blue flashing lights inside his front grille

He ends up giving me a ticket for 84 in a 55. He said if he went 85 or higher, I could potentially get my license suspended.

I'll NEVER race any of the following cars unless I can confirm that it is NOT some undercover cop.
Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, Grand Prix, Impala, Crown Victoria, Caprice, etc.

Oh well...

There is a way to get away with it. Go to the Police Academy, get hired with an agency, flash the badge when you get pulled over doing 92 in a 65, and get out of a ticket. They generally won't give you a ticket because if they do and come to your neck of the woods you'll follow them until they screw up and you pull them over and say, remember me, sign here please.

indiscretion in front of Officer Friendly

Not worth a new thread, but not terribly dissimilar, either.

Was getting onto local limited access road, on ramp has several lane merges.

Put the car in third, waiting for the squirrels in front to sort out their order, tucked in behind, checked lane, pulled out and dropped the hammer.

Into fourth, small hammer drop (now completely past all the squirrels with a ... very visible speed difference, let's say.)

Into sixth, coast.

See headlights APPROACHING FAST so I pull into middle lane.

Those headlights pull in behind me, and that's when I see the light bar on top!

Play Mr. Good Citizen in the Family Grocery Getter (while entertaining, again, the wisdom of the vanity plate), signal properly, etc, and get off at the next exit, as I originally planned.

Officer Friendly matches me, lane change for lane change, but the light bar is still dark.

At the top of the exit (which has a free flow right, my direction), OF heads left.

I didn't know my heart could beat that hard!

My 16 yr old JUST got his license Thursday ... 'twould have been a very, very bad thing for me to come home with a speeding or reckless driving ticket on Saturday!
