Did any of you see the article about the celica GTS turbocharged? They claim that the turbo system that they added gave a whooping 100+hp. Is that realistic? 250 or 260hp for a Celica? Sorry its off the subject, but since I had an encounter with a GTS recently I thought it was worth taking a look at.

I think so. A turbo'd GSR is rated at 275hp at the crank. It's all about how efficent the heads flow. Honda/Toyota/Nissan all have good head design + some kind of varible valve lift and or advance = lotsa hp!

I guess it depends on a number of things, like amount of boost, fuel psi capability, etc. I don't know about that GSR cuz I saw in SCC that the GSR turbo was being compared to the SI civic and the 1/4 times were nothing to gloat about. This celica is very light and with this much horses it have a smokin 1/4 time.

Yes I agree. I know the Greddy GSR turbo kit does put out 275hp for the GSR. But 0-60 and 1/4 mile times also depend on the amount of traction and the clutch package. Also launching one these mega hp FWD cars gets super difficult w/ all that wheel spin. Definately a lsd is a must.

Of course the hp depends on boost, fuel timing etc... but w/o decent heads, it's hard to get high efficent hp w/o boosting the living crap out of the car. I think the Greddy GSR doesn't push that much psi, but it still puts out 275 hp. Nice huh? Now that's good head design and good turbo sizing selection

So whats the verdict on the 2K max's supercharger made by stillen? Does it produce like 100hp gain? If so wouldn't you need to upgrade the clutch? Plus, I don't think a car with a SC would be too reliable after a few years? Let me know what you think or heard?

I think you could do that but it depends on what pulley you run and what extra stuff you add to the Stillen kit. I'm not the one to comment on the technical aspects on this kit though. 100hp would be 322hp at the wheels for a 5-gen. That's alot! With the better intake manifold and better fuel rail, you have a good chance. Of course an upgraded clutch would be necessary to use all of that hp.

Stillen sent me a dyno chart of a 5th gen S/C 5 speed. It put down just short of 290 wheel hp.
